Based in the heart of Northumberland, we (Maria Martindale and Jason Vare) are the duo that make up Rings True. With Maria as vocalist and pianist and Jason as vocalist and guitarist, we have been involved in performing music individually for many years and have played together for the past three. We are two people who are very passionate about music and who love to take any opportunity to share this passion, enthusiasm and love to any special occasion.
Between us, over the years we have built up a wealth of experience playing and singing at a wide range of venues and occasions such as churches, schools, conferences, home concerts, pubs, cafes, festivals, weddings, funerals, baptisms, birthdays and many more! We continue to offer music for a wide range of events and occasions, but together we specialise in weddings. We have played for many happy couples on their special day, including ITV's TV presenter Declan Donnelly and his beautiful wife Ali as they tied the knot in August 2015.
Rings True are a duo consisting of a guitarist, pianist and two vocalists. Depending on what you want we are able to offer duo and solo pieces or a mixture of both. We are able to offer many options to make your wedding day extra special with an array of live music. Some of the suggested times and services we're able to offer music for during your wedding day are as follows:
During the wedding ceremony
Up to four songs during the ceremony. It could be all or either of the entrance, exit and one or two during the signing of the register. If in a Catholic Mass, the offertory and Communion can provide opportunities for more solo/duet pieces.
Background music
Rings True can play up to 30 minutes of background music to help create an atmosphere as guests arrive at the ceremony
Wedding/drinks reception
Music can be provided in the background as guests arrive to the wedding reception and continue whilst guests enjoy a drink and social time.
Wedding breakfast
If you would like live music to be played in the background as people eat or something in particular to be performed as part of a wedding speech, this can be arranged.
